Author Guidelines

This section provides information about the key sections that must be present in the article.

     1. General Instructions

All submitted manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the 7th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word, using the Cambria font at a 12-point size, and with 1.5 line spacing. Submitted manuscripts must not have been published elsewhere or be currently under consideration with any other publication outlet. Submissions that closely resemble previously published articles by the same author/s will be immediately rejected.

     2. Authors

Please list all authors who played a significant role in developing the points presented in the article.
Please:

  • provide full affiliation information (name of institution and e-mail address) for all authors, and
  • indicate who is the corresponding author.

      3. Title

Please provide a concise and specific title that clearly reflects the content of the article.

     4. Abstract

Abstracts should be up to 300 words long and provide a succinct summary of the article. Although the abstract should explain why the article might be interesting. Citations should not be used in the abstract. For original research, we suggest that (if applicable) abstracts are structured into Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.

     5. Keywords

Authors should supply up to eight relevant keywords that describe the subject of their article. These will improve the visibility of your article.

     6. Main Body

The format of the main body of the article is flexible: it should be concise, making it easy to read and review, and presented in a format that is appropriate for the type of study presented.

For most articles, the following standard format will be the most appropriate:

  • Introduction
  • Theoretical review
  • Methodology
  • Results
  • Discussions
  • Conclusions/Recommendation

Figures and Tables

Tables and figures should be in bold 11-point type, Cambria. All figures and tables should be cited and discussed in the article text. Each figure or table should have a concise title of no more than 15 words. Titles for tables should appear above the table while titles for figures should appear below the figure.

Ethics policies: All research must have been conducted within an appropriate ethical framework. For studies involving humans or animals, details of approval by the authors’ institution or an ethics committee must be provided in the Methods section.

     7. References

References should be listed in the APA referencing style.

     8. Funding statement

Please provide details of any funders that supported the work presented in your article.

If your work was not funded by any grants, please include the section entitled “Grant information” and state: ‘The author(s) declared that no grants were involved in supporting this work’.

     9. Summary of Peer-Review Process

The editor-in-chief oversee the external review process. The editor-in-chief will assign the manuscripts to associate editors to serve as action editors for the work. The associate editors will secure reviewers and make judgments concerning publication worthiness. Publication judgements will be based on reviewer feedback and the associate editor’s own reading of the submission materials. This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process

     10. Publication Charges

Note: Payments are made after the paper is accepted for publication.

Authors from Kenya will be required to pay a processing fee of Ksh 10, 000 (ten thousand only) for every paper accepted for publication in the journal. Scholars from other regions will be required to pay a processing fee of 100 USD.
